There are lots and lots of kids around our church, and we love it! We don’t view children as a noisy nuisance to keep quiet while we attend to more spiritual things, but as an integral part of our covenant community. Jesus loved children and teaches us to do the same, so we view children’s ministry as both a serious responsibility and a joyful privilege.
We have three core values for children’s ministry:
- Safe – we place the highest priority of the safety of children
- Fun – we keep it fun and exciting
- Christ-centered – we keep the focus on Jesus
Our goal, then, is to provide a safe and fun environment in which children will flourish and thrive as they grow in their understanding of the gospel.
There are three primary venues for children’s ministry at Redeemer.
Redeemer Kids: Education Hour
On Sunday mornings during the school year (2nd Sunday of September – 2nd Sunday of June), we offer educational for kids of all ages, 2 years old and up (and nursery is provided for the little ones). If you are visiting for the first time, just stop by our Welcome Center (in church lobby) to check in your kids to the right class.
Redeemer Kids: Worship Hour
We also have a special time of worship for Redeemer Kids each Sunday for both preschool and elementary aged kids through 5th grade. Children’s Worship begins downstairs at 10:30am and includes a Christ-centered biblical teaching, singing, Scripture memory, and interactive games and crafts.
Redeemer Kids: AWANA Clubs
AWANA (Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed) Clubs meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00. Please bring your K-6th grader for a fun evening including bible memorization, songs and games! You can register at the door. Questions? Please email Hannah at firstname.lastname@example.org or text/call 630-815-1774.
